Lawn Bowling: Recommended by Medical Professionals

by | Jun 2, 2021 | Updates

With the second-highest proportion of seniors amongst sub-regions in Ontario (27%) the South Georgian Bay area is fortunate to have a plethora of options which support staying active. The scientific evidence is clear that a higher level of physical activity is associated with reduced risk for many illnesses as well as an increased sense of well-being. As such, I applaud the initiative of Norma Gee, president of the Collingwood Lawn Bowl Club, who is introducing a new program designed to increase accessibility and fun while encouraging participation in a well-established local sporting tradition. I know many of our local seniors will benefit from the social interaction as well as the physical activity involved
